First Spring

When we started our trip early last month (in north Georgia), the tell-tale signs of spring had just begun to make an appearance with the blooming of Bradford pear trees, daffodils and forsythia.  A short, five-hour drive later, we arrived on St. Simons Island and spring had beaten us there.  Everything from azaleas to dogwoods were in full bloom and I felt like Dorothy stepping into Oz!
We came to the coast to attend the wedding of our friends Jason and Audrey, in one of the most beautiful weddings I've ever witnessed, uniting two of the nicest people you'll ever meet, in the most beautiful little white chapel by the sea.  The bride looked angelic and the ceremony was full of southern charm, down to the smallest details like the sear sucker ties for the groomsmen and the shrimp and grits served at the reception.  The entire event was purely magical!
During our brief, two-day visit, we managed to do what felt like a week's worth of activities.  We caught up with old friends, made some great new ones, got to witness a blessed event, ate like nobody's business and soaked up some awesome scenery.  I was in picture-taking heaven and one happy mama with her camera. :)

Some of our favorite places to visit:

St. Simons Island Fishing Pier (downtown St. Simons)
Beachcomber BBQ (featured on Food Network)
